Keeping your well-being in mind.

Our secluded nine-acre retreat provides ample distance by design, with cottages scattered around the grounds and plenty of room to explore the forests and beach. On June 15, 2021 the State of California and Mendocino County lifted the mask mandate for all fully vaccinated individuals.  As of August 8th, 2021 Mendocino County is now mandating masks indoors for all individuals regardless of vaccination.  **Update, as of March 4th, Mendocino County has removed the mask mandate for all individuals regardless of vaccination status.  During this ever evolving pandemic, we will continue to follow the county guidelines and update accordingly.  Along with this new guidance we have also updated our Safety Protocols.

Below are further details about what to expect when you visit Mar Vista Farm + Cottages—if you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch at 707-884-3522 or hello@marvistafarmandcottages.com. We live on site and are very responsive.

THE PROPERTY

All cottages at Mar Vista are separate structures that are accessed via open-air entrances and do not share ventilation. We have no elevators or enclosed corridors on the property.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

We will provide an in-person orientation, outdoors and appropriately distanced, upon your arrival. Contact-free check-out is available; simply leave your key in the door or on the table as you depart.

HOUSEKEEPING/STAFF

Your cottage will be thoroughly cleaned & sanitized before your arrival; our staff will wear appropriate protective gear as needed when cleaning cottages.  They also will change gloves and other items when moving between cottages. Note that housekeeping service during your stay is provided upon request only.

DINING + DELIVERIES

We take great caution when shopping for groceries and other provisions for our guests, and also when delivering them to your cottage. While we have no control over the actions of other establishments or their employees, we have confidence that the businesses in our community are doing everything possible to operate in a safe manner—because we have seen it first-hand.

ACTIVITIES

Many activities, such as Star Bathing, Forest Bathing, and beach excursions are self-guided, allow for easy distancing, or both—those and similar activities remain fully available to guests.
