Weddings at our coastal retreat are both intimate and inspiring. Surrounded by gardens, forests, sea, and sky, your dance floor is the cool grass, your ceiling the starry Milky Way. Luminaria line the driveway. It’s as if this entire place was made just for you, because today, it is.

The Glass House

Perfect for private dinners, receptions, and group activities, the Glass House is at the center of Mar Vista. Designed like a greenhouse, it has room for 40 guests at a single table that stretches the length of the structure. Unique, exquisite, and absolutely unforgettable, it is a place of boundless potential: the beginning of an evening you’ll remember forever, or the foundation of an anniversary that soon will become family legend. 

Typically, the use of the Glass House is only for cottage guests or part of a group staying at the cottages. 

  • Minimum $100 rental fee includes basic tables, chairs, and oil cloth for up to 12 cottage guests
  • For an additional $20pp we will set the tables with our dinnerware, candles, and flowers (in-season). We provide trash cans, recycling bins, and bus tubs for your dirty dishes (we do them for you!).
  • Any groups of more than 12 people, will fall under our Celebration Rates. Please inquire directly for more details.  

All Glass House Reservations during your stay need a minimum of two weeks advance notice by calling or emailing.

Mar Vista Celebration

$17,500, FULL BUY OUT ALL OF COTTAGES INCLUSIVE – this includes full rental fee/rooms and taxes OR

$9,500, EVENT FEE – for the wedding couple who would like to only pay for the event fee and have their guests pay for their cottages

Our full-property buyout package will make your celebration feel like an exclusive private getaway—because it is! You and your guests will enjoy all of our nine acres, including our secluded beach access, gardens, fire pit, redwood forest and more. Mar Vista will handle all the pre-event coordination and arrange catering, bar service, and set-up. Contact Mar Vista for food and beverage estimates, based on your vision of the wedding weekend. 

  • All available cottages reserved for two nights, sold separately
  • Up to 40 guests for sit down dinner
  • Gathering ceremony at the Upper Deck or in the Glass House
  • Reception venue for one night, including Glass House, fire pit area and Reception Lawn
  • Candlelight sconces & candeliers in the Glass House
  • Table & chair setup formally or casually
  • Cottage linens, plates, glassware and silverware
  • Market lights and luminaries for celebration night
  • Officiant or speaker for ceremony of choice available
  • Drink bucket filled with cold water and iced mint tea
  • Champagne toast with local sparkling wine* or non-alcoholic sparking cider with glassware
  • Total event coordination with our local community caterers and partners
  • Custom florals from our gardens on event reception tables**

Please note: Proof of insurance is required for any pre-approved event planners, facilitators, professionals, vendors, or teachers. Declining any package inclusions will not result in a reduction of rental and/or package fees.

Mar Vista Mini-Celebration

Celebrate with family and friends as you begin your forever journey together—or renew your vows and declare your love all over again. With the sea and forest as your backdrop, the day will be unforgettable.

  • Two nights in a one-bedroom cottage (best available on your dates)
  • Requires rental of 2 additional cottages with a maximum of 4*, reserved for at least two nights, sold separately
  • All guests must be staying on property
  • Choice of ceremony space in the Glass House, Upper Deck, Redwood Forest, or Beach. (Beach access is through our path, which is a mildly strenuous hike. Casual shoes are suggested; there is no ADA access.)
  • Three hours reserved for reception, including Glass House and Reception Lawn Cottage, with linens, china, glassware and silver
  • Officiant or speaker for ceremony of choice available
  • Custom florals from our gardens on event reception table**
  • Drink bucket filled with cold water and iced mint tea
  • Caterer arrangements are required for more than 12 people
  • Champagne toast with local sparkling wine or cider with glassware
  • 12-inch cake from our local pastry shop
  • Charcuterie board with local cheese, smoked meats, and organic fruits & crackers

This package includes everything you need for an intimate elopement, vow renewal, or a wedding day simply shared with those who matter most.

  • Two nights in a one-bedroom cottage (best available on your dates)
  • Maximum of one additional cottage can be added,  sold separately
  • Choice of celebration via our private beach path or on our Lookout Deck, or Redwood Forest
  • Officiant or speaker for ceremony
  • Gathering table set up on lawn for post-ceremony gathering OR Glasshouse annex
  • Drink bucket filled with cold water and/or iced mint tea
  • Use of mini greenhouse for table of up to 6 persons dining max
  • Custom florals from our gardens on the reception table**
  • 6-inch cake from our local pastry shop
  • Champagne toast with local sparkling wine or cider with glassware
